Just to put the record straight

Some one (probably a mod ) seems to think i am being vindictive rateing the Livefood forums.
Now while i will quite happily own up to a comment that i had quite happily put on the open forum (now invisible ) i'm sorry but i'm not responsible for all posts .
Please grow up.
And while were on the subject would someone mind telling me how another mod threatens violence to someone yet they are not sacked same as Maureen?
And she still hasnt had a proper appologie either, appologise properly or not at all, dispicable!!!
whom have helped moderate the site over the years.
As board owner i have thought long and hard over the weeks as to wether to try and restart the Reptilecrazy we all knew and loved, and the sad fact is no, i'm afraid even with soul searching i just cannot do it.
I wont remove her as promised, but neither am i going to try and rekindle her.
With this in mind i have removed all mods (theres really nothing to moderate anyhow) and anything here now will purely be attended too by the admins.
Thank you so much for all your hard work guys, and i wish you all well in whatever you do.
Steve Found (Elaphe Fan) from Livefood has very kindly set up a Blog for me as a Livefood member, if your a member of Livefood PM him and you can have your own.
Rather than continually bore you with updates, my Blog can now be found in the top main menu bar,
or HERE
Happy reading
Below is one of our pride and joys, a Gold Ring Butterfly Fish, affectionately know as Angel, and is in our Guppy breeding tank.
It has unbelievably been 1 year since our Janey has been taken from us, our thoughts go to Ian, Beth, John and family,
Jane affected each and every one of us on this site, she was an admin on the site, but she was much much more than that to many people, she was a part of us and a part of our lives.
For many people whom had the pleasure of her touching their lives she was a breath of fresh air, or the gust of wind that was needed to clear your head.
Her love of reptiles was clear to all, her knowledge of corns and genetics second to non, and her ability to help all and place it on a level people could understand was outstanding, as was her ability to understand peoples needs.
We lost a true true friend last year, and i hope Reptilecrazy people and others will join me today to acknowledge what a great loss this has been, and how very very much Jane is still loved and still in our hearts.
We love you very much my darling, and there are some wounds that time cannot heal............
Having been in communications with Steve offering support and help over the difficulties with Livefood UK Forum, Steve has requested that this announcement go up.....................................................
Here is the whole story which I would be grateful if you could post on your site because I know I am going to take a lot of flack over this.
The database is huge now well over 580MB and it has been playing up for a while now so we have been looking into upgrading our server to something faster and with more memory, trouble is every time I have tried to do a backup (mysqldump) of the database it has caused the server to crash so we have been downloading backups using phpMyAdmin by splitting the tables and downloading zipped files of 10,000 database rows each but it now turns out a lot of those files are corrupt and the last good backup we have of the forum is from 14/07/2006
It seems that the last crash on Saturday morning caused while I was trying to get a backup when there was not too many users on it has completely wrecked the forum database as well as wrecking something on the server that is preventing the classifieds from communicating correctly with it's database, although the classifieds database IS INTACT (we have tried it on our other server that runs the shop)
I have been on the phone most of the day on Saturday to try and stop my web hosts overwriting the last good backup from Friday with a backup my now wrecked server from Saturday however it is they say an automatic process and they have not been able to stop it as they are only tech support and not server administrators.
Anyway we are now waiting for our web hosts to set up a new server for us and will transfer the classifieds and last good backup of the forum to that server, but I don't expect it will be before next weekend before we are back and we will have probably lost everything on the forum from 14/07/06 until now :(
I am sure members will join me in wishing Steve all the best with this, and will be considerate in understanding that non of this is Steves fault and he has been doing his best.
Many of our members are totally unable to reach the site Many thanks go to Fasthosts whom hold the domain registration for me, ive been pestering them since early December to renew the sites registration (due January), but got either fobbed off or ignored.
Eventually i worked out the godawfull control panel and bought what was needed, but due to a far more complicated world than i can cope with, could not fathom out how to actually apply the 2 years i had bought to my own site.
And yes you've guessed it, they further ignored my emails!!!!!
It took a phone call this morning to get them to manually apply them having looked at my account and seeing that yes i had paid!!!!!
So appols to those who were cut off, and i still cant understand why i can still post, filtering down through ISP's must take some time is all i can say!!!!!
Sorry guys, but i was trying, didnt realise that basically the numpties would pull the plug without even checking the account.
I'd like you all to give Peaches a warm RC welcome to the moderating team.
I'm sure all those of you who know her know that she is a fine lady who will do a sterling job.
Welcome aboard hun.
Without much more a do, cuz if i do i'll forget and womble off and do something else, heres the new photo comp.
We would like pictures of your reptiles (but heres the twist) they have to have a caption integrated into the picture. They can be funny ones, sweet ones, can have a christmas theme well pretty much anything goes, its up to you.
